STOP EFFLORESCENCE on MASONRY!

FABRIKEM MANUFACTURING LTD. announces a proprietary new way to manage all three of the conditions required to create efflorescence. Finally! FABRISHIELD® QMA provides a practical and efficient way to deliver beautiful masonry construction that stays beautiful.

Masonry Construction magazine carried an excellent article by Harold B. Newman in its September 2000 issue, outlining the 3 conditions which, when combined, create efflorescence on masonry walls. The article pointed up that (until now), good material selection, proper detail design, excellent workmanship in construction and detailing, and regular & knowledgeable maintenance were the primary tools available to try to manage the problems created when these conditions exist.

Building on its 4 decades of service to the masonry industry, FABRIKEM'S research team has created a unique product that:

1. Begins reacting with exterior masonry surfaces on contact to repel surface water, keeping masonry dryer.
2. Converts water contained in the masonry or entering the masonry from non-exterior surface areas into a gaseous state (water vapor) on contact, eliminating the possibility of transporting salts.
3. Transfers this water vapor to the exterior surface of the wall more effectively than untreated masonry can, thereby speeding drying of the treated wall.

FABRISHIELD® QMA in clay brick and CMU formulations is:

1. Intended to be applied to damp masonry, immediately after cleaning of new walls, given the surface feels dry to the touch. (no need to wait either for a thoroughly dry wall, or for a 28 day cure).
2. Environmentally friendly - water based, voc compliant, plant & animal safe.
3. Will not be damaged if frozen in its container.
